Titulaire d’un CFC de serrurier il a suivi une formation de maître socio-professionnel et de directeur d’institution et obtenu un diplôme d’éducateur social HES. Directeur durant de nombreuses années d’un centre de formation professionnelle, il a rejoint il y a 4 ans la Direction Générale de l’Organisation  romande de formation et d’intégration professionnelle. Il est Conseiller Municipal depuis 2012, en charge du dicastère de l’Enseignement et de la Formation professionnelle.
